Amphibians spend most of their life underwater, and only spend a little amount of time on land. Amphibians are ectothermic animals, and can't regulate their own body heat. They usually have moist skin that is protected by a slippery layer of mucus. They breathe through their skin, and their body develops through a process called Metamorphosis.
