Arachnids have multiple legs and look like Insects, except they have eight legs while insects have six legs. They are largely terrestrial and solitary animals, and they gather for mating. Arachnids are determined to be one of the first animals alive, 400 million years ago. It is estimated that there is a total of 98,000 species that have been described, and that there may be up to 600,000 species in total. Arachnids have bilateral symmetry.
