There are more than 4,000 different species of mammals. Humans are mammals as well. Mammals are endothermic. Also known as "warm-blooded", endothermic animals can regulate their body temperate, which allows them to live in almost any climate. They have hair on their body, and they produce milk to feed their offspring. Most mammals are viviparous, except for the platypus which is the only mammal who is ovoviviparous. Platypus offspring come out of eggs, like birds or reptiles. Platypuses are part of the subdivision of mammals that can lay eggs, which is called, Monotremata.
Some examples of Mammals are: Humans, Monotremata (Platypuses, Echinada), Marsupials (Koalas, Kangaroos, etc.), Manatees, Seals, Bears, Dolphins, Tigers, and more.
Tigers are part of one of the subdivisions of mammals, Placentalia.
